A story unlikely to ever happen again. I had a 2001 vintage GPS (they weren't in many mobile phones yet) that connected to my laptop! I had the bright idea to see if it could read my airplane flight data.
It did! See the photo where it shows we are doing 549 MHP and our altitude is 37,570 Feet!
A stewardess (that was a correct name in those days), saw my GPS attached to the window and ask me about it. This was eight months BEFORE 9/11 so she was not worried about me being a terrorist. When I explained what I was doing she left. She came back and said the pilot would like to see me after we land! I wasn't sure what that was all about!
After we landed My IBM work buddy, Pancho and I were escorted into the cockpit! Wow! Not only that, the pilot took our photo and I took one of him. He said my 120 buck GPS (antenna to USB port) was more accurate than the one we just flew in on! He asked me where he could get one.
I doubt a story like this will ever happen to another American citizen, post September 11, 2001.
I was the Production Director. I edited (spliced with a razor blade and tape) reel to reel audio tape and made magic, (commercials and contest promos). To maintain my energy I brought a gallon of orange juice into the studio every day and it was gone five hours later when my show was over. Funny, I don't recall ever getting the Flu when I was there.. 🙄😎
The reason there's only the parts where I talk and not the whole song is because the boss, (the Program Director) required us to record 'skimmer tapes' that only run when our mic is open, so he could yell at us for anything he thought was wrong. LOL
